Ard Aoibhinn is run by a voluntary company An Breacadh Nua (The New Dawn) established in 1995. The Board is elected annually and consists of Parents and friends of Ard Aoibhinn Services. It is supported by a professional staff of over 100 with a range of voluntary workers, Fas workers, student nurses, social care students and visiting professionals from the Health Service Executive e.g. Speech/Language Therapist, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Psychologists. All combine to create a multi-disciplined team caring for all clients in a modern, happy, friendly environment. The overall policy of the organisation is to provide services for people with special needs in whatever way is best suited to their abilities and to raise awareness about disability within the wider community.
With 7 vehicles which are specially adapted for wheelchair use and 4 unadapted vehicles that travel all over South Co. Wexford, from Fethard through Camross to Oulart and south as far as Rosslare and cater for over 60 clients and cover 300 miles per day.
Day Services are provided for 70+ adults in the Wexford area in Ard Aoibhinn Centre, Duille Nua and Dun Ri.
Our preschool operates between 9.30am and 2.30pm daily Monday-Friday and is based in Ard Aoibhinn Centre on Belvedere Road.
Residential Service- Currently consists of three community homes catering for the needs of 20 residents. All residents have been diagnosed with various levels of Intellectual Disability and some residents have associated physical disabilities. The Social Model of care and community participation are actively promoted in residential services.
Respite Service for children with an Intellectual Disability. The service has been designed to meet the needs of those service users with high physical and Medical needs and those who present with behaviour that challenges.
Respite service for adults. This service is available to all adults with an intellectual disability and/or autism in the south east community care area.
Social Housing Company has been incorporated by the company to further develop the Residential Service. There are two houses fully operational under the Social Housing Company.
An Elderly Service been established and is located in Cluain Dara, at the moment there are 10 service users.
As a registered charity (CHY No. 11421) Ard Aoibhinn are funded by the Health Service Executive. In addition to this each year Ard Aoibhinn aim to raise €50,000 in order to fund additional services.
